From the beginning...

      Welcome to ComfortHER, an initiative that originated as a passion-driven senior project in March 2023, and evolved into a dedicated annual drive and donation effort aimed at supporting homeless and underprivileged women. Founded by Aliyah Jordan, then senior at Tabor Academy, ComfortHER achieved a significant milestone in May 2023 by donating over 2,500 essential sanitary products to women in need in and around the New Bedford, Massachusetts area.

      As the visionary behind ComfortHER, Aliyah Jordan mobilized her community to collect crucial menstrual hygiene products, empowering women to feel confident and comfortable during their menstrual cycles. On May 17th, 2023, ComfortHER distributed 50 thoughtfully curated bags, each containing approximately 50 pieces of a mix of pads and tampons, along with fuzzy socks, a blanket, an encouraging note and a goodie bag featuring an assortment of candies, tea bags, and lip balms. Additionally, recipients received a flyer with the contact information of a representative from the YWCA, ensuring ongoing support with a readily available source for more products as needed.

      The resounding success and overwhelming joy derived from this initial endeavor fueled Aliyah Jordan's commitment to extend her impact beyond a one-time project. Motivated to address period poverty systematically, ComfortHER pledges to continue its annual contributions, striving to make a difference in the lives of women one donation at a time.
